Maharashtra CM Reacts to Planned Protest March Against Election Commissioner

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday (September 29) reacted to the joint protest march announced by MNS chief Raj Thackeray and Shiv Sena (UBT) president Uddhav Thackeray against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. He said that protesting is a democratic right, but politicians should check the veracity of their claims. The Thackeray brothers have announced a big protest march in Mumbai on October 4 to expose the bias and irregularities in the Election Commission of India (ECI) under the leadership of CEC Gyanesh Kumar. CM Fadnavis told reporters after chairing the weekly cabinet meeting, "Everyone has the right to protest in a democracy. I will not criticise who is protesting. However, people should understand how serious the issue is and check the veracity of the examples given before hitting the streets. Detailed answers will be given after their protest." This march of the Thackeray brothers will start from Richardson & Co. in Byculla at 10 am on October 4 and will end at around 1 am if our joint protest with the Election Commission of India (ECI) is held.
