Maharashtra Deputy CM Sunetra Pawar Reacts to 'Dumb Doll' Remark by Congress

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar has reacted for the first time to the "dumb doll" remark made by the Congress. On Tuesday (August 4), she said, "When the time comes, I will give a befitting reply." Her reaction comes amid the political controversy that erupted after a social media post by the Maharashtra Congress. The remark about Sunetra Pawar has drawn strong protests from the ruling Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and its allies. Several leaders, including party's working president Praful Patel, have condemned it as derogatory. Patel said in a statement that the NCP strongly condemns the abusive language used against Sunetra Pawar. Maharashtra will never accept the insult of women who follow the progressive ideas of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and Yashwantrao Chavan. Former Union Minister Praful Patel said that it is unfortunate and condemnable that the Congress used such language against a woman leader, Sonia Gandhi, and demanded an immediate apology from Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
