Maharashtra's Maratha Reservation Issue: Agitation Scheduled for August 29

The atmosphere in Maharashtra seems to be heating up once again on the issue of Maratha reservation. Maratha agitator Manoj Jarange Patil is once again going to start an agitation from August 29 at Antarwali Sarati. Earlier today (August 24), a delegation of the government met Jarange Patil. It included Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, Minister Shambhuraj Desai and Minister Uday Samant. After this meeting, Manoj Jarange Patil spoke to the media. During this time, he made it clear that he will not back off and the agitation will continue on August 29. Manoj Jarange Patil's agitation will start from August 29 at Antarwali Sarati. Jarange Patil put forth his demand before the government delegation that the government should issue certificates related to all the records that have been discovered by August 28. He said that the agitation will not stop now and the agitation will definitely take place on August 29. Manoj Jarange Patil demanded, "The decision to give equal facilities to the Maratha society to the OBCs should be implemented by August 28.
