MUMBAI: As many as 8,212 housing projects across the state have not updated their quarterly progress reports, MahaRERA has issued show-cause notices to these projects. Pune district accounts for the highest number of projects at 1,957. Mumbai, including Konkan, accounts for 4,644 projects. Thane has 1,765 projects, Mumbai Suburban has 1,263 projects. Khandesh has 451 projects, Vidarbha has 391 projects, Nagpur has 185 projects, and Marathwada has Sambhajinagar. At present, 33,029 housing projects are under construction in Maharashtra. As per the Real Estate Act, builders of projects are required to report and update details of how many houses they have registered every three months, how much money they have received, how much they have spent, whether any changes have been made to the building plan, etc. on the website. Progress reports for January, February, and March were required to be updated by April 20. But 82,2912 of these projects are yet to be reported. MahaRERA has issued notices to all builders.
