Kolkata: After the shocking results of the West Bengal Assembly elections, Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday held a press conference and opened a front against the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Election Commission. She categorically stated that the Trinamool Congress has not lost the elections, but has been defeated. She made a serious allegation against the BJP that it has won by misusing the Election Commission. Mamata Banerjee said that her fight was not against the BJP but against the Election Commission, which has played the role of the "main villain" in these elections. Mamata Banerjee launched a scathing attack on the Election Commission and the central leadership, alleging that the names of 9 million voters were deleted through Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and that the BJP had "looted" 100 seats. She targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, saying that these two leaders together had used all kinds of tactics to defeat us. She further stated that she had never seen such atrocities after 2004 and was adamant on resigning even when her workers were attacked by BJP workers.
