TMC Supremo Mamata Banerjee has started a sit-in protest in Kolkata against the attacks on party workers and leaders allegedly after BJP's victory in the recently held assembly elections. TMC was denied permission by Kolkata Police to hold a sit-in at Rani Rashmoni Road. Mamata Banerjee then reached the sit-in venue at Y-channel of Esplanade. Earlier, Mamata paid tributes at the statue of Bharat Ratna Dr. बी.आर Ambedkar. Before leaving for the protest, Banerjee was also seen holding a book of the Constitution of India. BJP rigged the counting of votes in 177 out of 294 seats to win the Bengal assembly elections. Police are threatening TMC workers not to participate in the protests, but I will continue the protest. Evicting hawkers without rehabilitation was not the policy of the TMC government, we took a humane approach. Mamata said that I will not leave the TMC workers at this difficult time. She said that the anti-national parties whom she said are supporting are now traitors to life.
