Mamata Banerjee Mourns Death of Close Aide Ashish Banerjee, Suspected Suicide

The body of former Deputy Speaker of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly and Mamata Banerjee's close aide Ashish Banerjee was found. The TMC leader is suspected to have committed suicide. His body was found hanging in the party office in Birbhum district. Former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee surrounded the BJP in gestures. She said that what makes this tragic incident even more painful is how much mental and emotional stress he must have suffered in his last days. Mamata Banerjee said in an ex-post. "I was deeply saddened by the death of Ashish Banerjee. He spent most of his life teaching and serving the society. He was always known for his humble nature and his close relations with the people of Rampurhat and Birbhum." She said, "5-time MLA, former Deputy Speaker and Chairman Ashish Da had dedicated himself to the development of Rampurhat and had done many important works for the people. Despite doing so much work, he was repeatedly defamed, his passing away for Banerjee has been known as a liar.
