Former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's lawyer sent a legal notice to the government-run SSKM Hospital and Bangur Institute of Neurosciences on Monday, alleging that her medical records were made public without her permission, after Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari made public information about her 2021 election injury. A source in the health department gave this information. Banerjee's political rival Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has claimed that his predecessor Mamata Banerjee falsely claimed to have suffered a leg injury during the election campaign in Nandigram in 2021. He showed a document at a press conference a few days ago and claimed that it was a report of the Radio Diagnosis Department of Bangur Institute of Neurosciences dated March 11, 2021, which did not find any evidence of a fracture. The official said that the state government would launch a fresh investigation into the "false claims" of Mamata Banerjee's leg injury during the 2021 assembly election campaign. This was followed by Banerjee's lawyer Arka Nagma's email to the Director of SSM's Neurosciences Department and a statement to the Chief Medical Officer of Bangur Institute mentioning the leg injury during the election campaign on 3 October.
