Mayoral Election in Ajmer Municipal Corporation Marred by Ruckus Over Congress Leader's Presence

The voting for the mayoral election in the Ajmer Municipal Corporation is underway today. There has been a ruckus in the municipal corporation premises since the voting began. BJP leaders objected to the arrival of former Ajmer Dehat Congress district president Bhupendra Rathore at the municipal corporation building with Congress councillors during the voting. BJP leaders protested to the police and administration. After the intervention of the police, the matter was resolved. The counting of votes for the mayoral election is to be held in the evening. BJP leaders said that there is an objection to Bhupendra Rathod's presence at the municipal corporation building during the voting process. The police and administration threw Bhupendra Rathore out of the municipal corporation building when the matter escalated. After this development, the political atmosphere in the municipal corporation complex was heated for some time. There is a direct fight between the BJP and the Congress for the mayoral post in Ajmer. Both the parties are claiming the support of their respective councillors. Congress's Garhwal and BJP's Anamika Sharma are at loggerheads. To form the board, both the parties have 41 independent councillors and the Congress has now won 37 seats.
