Ahmedabad: The voting process for the 2026 general elections to the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation began early this morning. As per the data so far, the voter response in the city has been mixed, with a large difference in the figures for East and West Ahmedabad. Odhav ward has topped the city with 20.39 percentage, indicating that there is great enthusiasm for the festival of democracy in the eastern areas. In contrast, voters in posh localities like Thaltej and Bodakdev have been found to be disinterested in reaching the polling stations, where only 6 to 7 per cent turnout has been recorded. Checking ward-wise polling details shows that voters in Lambha (20.12%) and Ghatlodia (20.07%) have also queued up since morning. Nicole ward, with over 1.27 lakh voters, has recorded 16.64 percentage, while Vatva and Maktampura, with single-digit percentage of voting, have seen more women than men in the final results of the elections.
