Modi Celebrates BJP's Election Victory in Five States

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accompanied by BJP leaders and workers, arrived at the party headquarters in New Delhi on Monday after the results of the assembly elections in five states were announced. Amit Shah, party president Nitin Navin and others accompanied him. Modi, among others, was naturally elated at the victory in West Bengal. The prime minister came dressed as a'Bengali'in white Punjabi and dhoti. He also said a word or two in his famous Bengali. In his speech, he described the BJP's victory in Bengal as historic, unprecedented. The people of Bengal had rooted out fear, appeasement and violence. He also claimed that Shamaprasad's soul had found peace in the BJP's victory in West Bengal. But the main ideological target of his speech was the communists. In his speech, Modi pointed to the defeat of the CPI (M) -led LDF in Kerala and said, "Today, there is another change in India's politics. Today, there is not a single state where the Modi government is in power."
