Abhijeet Deepak, the founder of Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) was briefly detained by Mumbai Police and released after some time. He was seen holding placards near Marine Drive, after which police detained him. Police detained him a day before CJP's proposed protest in Mumbai. CJP is scheduled to protest on 2nd October at Shivaji Park. Mumbai Police had denied permission for the protest. Thereafter, Deepak announced a Jail Bharo Andolan or mass arrest campaign instead of a protest. Ashutosh Ranka of CJP has called the news of Abhijeet Deepak's detention fake. He posted on X, "Fake news. Deepak has not been detained. He is roaming on the streets of Mumbai." Abhijeet Deepak demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar and if his demand is not met, the protest will be started at Delhi Mantar.
