Mumbai તા.20: The month of March marks the beginning of accounting and financial activity in the market. This is the time of the year for traders, when the days of paying Mediclaim and various types of insurance premiums for citizens are approaching. Taking advantage of this situation, cyber frauds have also become more active and there has been a significant increase in the number of frauds on the pretext of insurance renewals in the city. Cyber frauds are now setting up a more organized network. They get citizens'mobile numbers, names, and insurance-related information from platforms like the dark web. They then call up identifying themselves as insurance company officials and force citizens to pay the premium immediately, fearing the policy is about to expire. In a hurry and for fear of cancellation of the policy, citizens scan the leak or QR code sent by the company and become victims of fraud. In the process, the fraudsters send a special leak to the citizens, which looks like a genuine insurance website, while the citizens actually enter their bank or treasury card information.
