In 2025, Rajya Sabha MP Dr Ashok Kumar Mittal introduced a private member's bill to set up a national men's commission for aggrieved men. Recently, he shared a tweet to reiterate the need. This is not the first time that a demand has been raised for a national men's commission. In 2023, advocate Mahesh Kumar Tiwari filed a PIL in the Supreme Court on the formation of a men's commission. After hearing it, the Supreme Court directed him to present his side to the central government. As directed by the Supreme Court, documents related to this were submitted to the government, but after receiving no response, he filed a petition again in the Delhi High Court in March 2026. The High Court again directed him to submit documents related to this before the central government. After this, he has again submitted all documents to the central government. In the current case, the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), which is under consideration, mentions about 38 percent of the victims of suicide in the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB).
