Navsari District Prepares for Historic Municipal Corporation Election

A new chapter is going to be added in the political history of Navsari district, when polling will be held as a Municipal Corporation for the first time after the upgradation of Navsari-Vijalpur Joint Municipality. To make this historic festival of democracy a success, the district administration on Sunday conducted a'dispatching'process from Sanskar Bharti High School. Under the strict guidelines of the State Election Commission, thousands of employees and security personnel were dispatched to their allotted polling stations since early morning under the direct supervision of the Navsari Collector and District Election Officer. A total of 5,400 trained polling staff have been deployed, who have been handed over EVMs, VVPATs and other election materials to maintain the dignity and transparency of the election process. More than 2,000 police personnel and a team of Home Guards have been deployed in sensitive areas to further strengthen the security arrangements. Technology has been extensively used by the administration this time, including webcasting of polling stations and real-time monitoring of polling stations, according to officials.
