NCP Removes Spokespersons, Appoints Interim Leaders in Maharashtra

In Maharashtra, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar has made a major organisational reshuffle. The party has removed all its current spokespersons. Party's Maharashtra state president Shashikant Shinde has cancelled the appointments of all spokespersons through a press release. While two people have been given the responsibility by the party. The party has given the post of official spokesperson to former MLC Vidya Chavan and Mahesh Tapase till the new appointment is made. These two leaders will continue as spokespersons of the party for the time being. This decision of Sharad Pawar's party has caused a political stir among the leaders. The leaders were not aware of the sudden decision taken by the party. This information has been shared through the official'X'account of the NCP SP. The post reads, "With immediate effect on Tuesday (August 4, 2026), with the approval of the party's provincial president and former minister Shashikant Shinde, all the previous appointments to the post of party spokesperson are cancelled until further orders. Also, during this period, Mahesh Tapase, a former MLA, and Vidya Tapase, an official spokesperson of the party, will remain as spokespersons of the party."
