Haryana's 25,327 sq km area falls in the Ad NCR region. It is 46 per cent of the entire NCR. In the NCR region of Uttar Pradesh, after Noida, Greater Noida, the metro has reached Sahibabad but only Gurugram and Faridabad districts of Haryana are not fully covered. The Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut rail project from Delhi to Karnal is pending since 2020. Presently, the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor is on priority. The rapid rail projects from Meerut to Ghaziabad are now operational in parts of Haryana.
