Netanyahu Rejects Trump's Gaza Plan, Demands Hamas Disarmament Before Troop Withdrawal

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected the 15-point Gaza plan announced by Trump. Netanyahu made it clear in a cabinet meeting that the Israeli army will not withdraw from Gaza until Hamas is actually fully disarmed. Trump's plan called for an Israeli troop withdrawal once the Hamas disarmament process is complete. Netanyahu said that Israel does not accept the document, although negotiations with the United States over Gaza are ongoing. On the other hand, Hamas Political Bureau member Bassem Naim said that the organization expects mediators and the United States to pressure Netanyahu. There are about 2 million Palestinians living in Gaza and the Israeli army controls more than half of the territory. The root of the current crisis in Gaza is linked to Hamas's attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. Israel then launched a military operation in Gaza. The biggest condition of the US-brokered peace is the cessation of hostilities, but the path is clear.
