Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi officially inaugrated the brand new 650-bed hospital campus at Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital (PRMMCH) in Baripada, Mayurbhanj district. The event stood out as a highlight of the state government’s second-anniversary celebrations, with the district administration tightening security and placing personnel at key points across the city to keep everything running smoothly. This new hospital is a huge leap for public healthcare in the region. Spread over nearly 50 acres, it’s a modern, centrally air-conditioned campus packed with advanced infrastructure. Inside, you’ll find 10 dedicated ICUs, several operating theaters, a full range of emergency services, as well as pathology labs and diagnostic centers. The hospital includes a wide range of clinical specialties—medicine, orthopedics, pediatrics, gynecology, and dental care—so it’s set to boost healthcare in Mayurbhanj. During his address, he didn’t just talk about development; he also virtually inaugurated and laid foundation stones for several new projects across Mayurbhanj, ramping up infrastructure and public services district-wide. After the public gathering, around 12:30 p.m., the Chief Minister headed by road to Rangamatia to formally inaugurate the new hospital building. Once he cut the ribbon, he met the medical students and staffs, stressing how this facility aims to raise the bar for both medical education and advanced patient care in the region.
