Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi led a high-level review meeting on Tuesday at Lok Seva Bhavan, focusing on how ready the administration is and sharpening up security measures. The meeting came just before President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s much-anticipated trips to the state. With preparations now in their final stretch across all departments, Chief Minister Majhi told senior police and administrative leaders—the Home Department, Intelligence Wing, and Director General of Police—to follow a tight security plan and work smoothly with central agencies. His message was clear: no room for mistakes. They ran through everything that needs to work flawlessly when VVIPs visit: secure routes, venue security, tight traffic controls, and crowd management, along with placing emergency medical teams on standby. Even with these strong security requirements, Majhi stressed that local emergency vehicles like ambulances have to move freely. No traffic jams. No stopping them, no matter what. The visits are planned for June 19 and 20. President Murmu will arrive in Rairangpur on Friday, June 19, and the next day, June 20, Prime Minister Modi will come to mark two years since the BJP government under Majhi took charge. That day, the Prime Minister also plans a stop at President Murmu’s in-laws village, Pahadpur in Mayurbhanj district, where he’ll take part in several local programs. Everything builds toward June 20, when both President Murmu and Prime Minister Modi will headline a big public event at Dandabosh in Rairangpur. Sharing the stage with them will be Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Majhi, and a lineup of top dignitaries. At Lok Seva Bhavan, the high-level briefing drew together the state’s top administrative and law enforcement brass to lock in plans and double-check that everything is ready to go. Among the key officials working side by side: Advisor to the Chief Minister Prakash Mishra, Chief Secretary Anu Garg, Development Commissioner DK Singh, Additional Chief Secretary for Home Department Hemanta Sharma, DGP YB Khurania, and several other senior officers. Everyone’s focused on making sure operations go off without a hitch.
