Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday (October 6) made a big statement on the UCC. He said that his government will not implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the union territory. The CM said that the Uniform Civil Code is not'uniform'( uniform) unless it is implemented everywhere. We will not implement it here. Speaking to reporters, the Chief Minister talked about the important issues related to the upcoming legal policies and electoral transparency and categorically said that the UCC will not be implemented in Jammu and Kashmir. CM Abdullah said, "Even in Bihar, Nitish Kumar's party has said that they will not implement it. Other governments have also said that the Uniform Civil Code will not be implemented here. Only the BJP is implementing it." Refuting the perception being created by the BJP and some regional political voices, which claimed that the central government does not need the Chief Minister to implement national structural reforms in Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah said that he has not allowed any such law to be implemented in his Jammu and Kashmir government.
