ISLAMABAD: The impact of the US-Israel-Iran war, which started a week ago, is now visible to the world. Iran's neighbor Pakistan is facing a petrol and diesel crisis. In view of the crisis in the Middle East, Pakistan's Shahbaz government has increased the prices of both petrol and diesel by Rs 55 per liter. The increased prices will come into effect after midnight on March 7. Long queues are being seen at petrol pumps in Pakistan to get oil. The Iran war has stopped the global energy supply line. This increase comes at a time when Iran has choked the Strait of Hormuz between the wars, halting the global energy supply line. 80 percent of the world's energy supply passes through this strait between Iran and Oman. According to Pakistani media reports, the price hike was announced during an emergency press conference late on Friday night. It was addressed by Pakistani Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Petroleum Minister and Finance Minister Aurangzeb Ali.
