Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister of neighbouring Pakistan, has once again boasted of his mediation efforts towards halting the Iran war and said that Pakistan is continuously working to de-escalate the conflict in the Middle East through diplomacy and dialogue. Sharif said this on Thursday. Shehbaz said this at a high-level meeting attended by Chief of Defence Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, the chief ministers of the four provinces, federal ministers, and Pakistan Peoples Party chief Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari. He said, "The flames of war in the region have not yet been doused; however, as a friend of all sides, Pakistan is continuously working to de-escalate tensions, and is engaged in dialogue and diplomatic efforts at various levels." He expressed deep sorrow over the deaths and devastation caused by the ongoing conflict. "We mourn the loss of lives and property due to this ongoing conflict," he said. "We also express our condolences to Prime Minister Ishaq Dar on the death of these two peacekeepers."
