Pakistan's Army Chief General Asim Munir is visiting Iran amid efforts to reconcile Iran and the United States. During this time there will be high-level talks between the two countries on bilateral relations and the current regional situation in the Middle-East. Earlier this month, Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also visited Iran. He had meetings with Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Tehran. On Sunday, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baghaei told reporters that a high-level delegation is also coming to Tehran with Field Marshal Asim Munir. This delegation will hold talks with the Iranian leadership. Baghaei said that the purpose of this visit is to strengthen bilateral cooperation and advance Pakistan's efforts to maintain peace and security in the region. This visit is being seen in diplomatic circles as an attempt to reactivate the MoU signed between the United States and Iran in June.
