Parliament Proceedings Disrupted as Opposition Protests Police Action During Students' Protest

On Monday (July 27), the opposition parties created ruckus over the police action during the students'protest in the NEET case, due to which the proceedings of both houses of parliament continued to be disrupted. When the proceedings resumed in the Rajya Sabha at around 5 pm, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju launched a scathing attack on the opposition, especially the Congress. He said that the opposition was deliberately not allowing the discussion. Rijiju said, "The Congress has been demanding a discussion on the paper leak and the future of the students for a long time, but now when the government is ready to discuss an important bill like the'Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill ', the opposition is not letting the house run." The Parliamentary Affairs Minister said, "It is said outside that the parliament is not allowed to speak, but inside the house, we are saying with folded hands that come, discuss. Jeeju ji is still not letting the house run."
