Pathania Stresses Importance of Private Member Bills in Parliament

Pathania clarified that a private member is someone who is not a minister. Bills introduced by such members are called private bills. He said that the importance of these bills is not just in making laws but in raising important issues and creating public opinion. Many reforms started as private member bills. Their success should be measured by their ability to influence public policy. Pathania urged new members to participate in constitutional work. He said that every bill gives an opportunity to improve governance. The true legacy of a legislator is measured by the quality of laws and contribution to democratic institutions. He wished all members a successful and illustrious legislative career. After the session, the Presiding Officers Committee finalised the draft report in its meeting and presented it to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.
