PM Modi Conferred Uzbekistan's Highest State Honour; Discusses Trade and Security at Bilateral Meeting

On Sunday, PM Modi, who is on a visit to Uzbekistan, was conferred with his country's highest state honour'Oliy Darazaly Doshlyk'by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The Uzbek word means high-level friendship. This is the 36th international honour PM Modi has received. Modi-Shavkat held a bilateral meeting in Tashkent. The meeting discussed uranium supplies between India and Uzbekistan. The two countries have set a target of increasing bilateral trade to $5 billion annually by 2030. Trade between the two countries is now over $1 billion. After the meeting, PM Modi addressed the media. After his visit to Uzbekistan, PM Modi will be in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, from August 31 to September 1. He will attend the 26th summit of the SCO. India is a full member of the SCO since 2017. The summit will discuss security, terrorism, trade, connectivity and economic cooperation. Modi will meet Presidents of China, Vladimir Putin, and other world leaders.
