PM Modi Meets Chinese President Xi Jinping at BRICS Summit, Discusses Trade and Border Tensions

PM Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping met on September 12 on the sidelines of the BRICS summit. PM Modi thanked China for its support and cooperation. It is believed that this meeting will be followed by a balanced decision on trade and economic relations ranging from the ongoing tensions along the LAC. India has always believed that relations between the two countries cannot improve without peace and stability along the border. China continues to argue that the border dispute should be treated separately from other bilateral relations. Chinese President Xi Jinping has urged China and India to work together to promote better cooperation among BRICS countries. Xi Jinping has said that China and India can learn from each other's strengths and achieve common development. China views its relations with India from a strategic and long-term perspective. Like Subansiri district in Arunachal Pradesh during the talks, India's stance on the entire Arunachal Pradesh region has also been clear after the talks.
