PM Modi's Unique Turban Tradition Continues on India's Independence Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi continued his well-known Independence Day tradition on Saturday. He arrived at the 80th Independence Day celebrations wearing a bright red turban with a yellow and white bandhani pattern. Wearing a white kurta-pyjama with a red turban and a brown Nehru jacket, PM Modi addressed the nation on Independence Day and carried forward his tradition of wearing a special turban every time on Independence Day. Recall his first speech at the Red Fort in 2014, he was seen in a red shiny Jodhpuri bandhej turban. A year later, he wore a turban with a yellow and multi-coloured cross-cross pattern. Since then, he has been continuously wearing a pink, red, saffron, bandhani and wavy turban and has even worn a turban with the colours of the national flag once. PM Modi has worn different turbans in the 12 years since 2014, but these 12 turbans are usually seen with a western pattern.
