New Delhi: As the Middle East crisis deepens, the government has asked for rapid implementation of measures to save petrol and diesel. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself has taken the initiative. According to sources, PM Modi has halved the number of vehicles in his convoy. Home Minister Amit Shah has also reduced the number of vehicles in the convoy to less than half now. PM has said that electric vehicles should be increased in his convoy. No new vehicles should be bought for this. Central government ministries have also started fuel saving exercises. Some chief ministers of BJP-ruled states have also directed to cut down their convoys. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan CMs have taken this decision. Union Minister C R Patil has decided not to take escort vehicles. Narendra Modi's initiative The Prime Minister has given instructions to cut down the number of vehicles in his security fleet by 50 percent. Chief Minister Narendra Modi has asked to increase the number of electric vehicles in the convoy.
