Police Seize Foreign Liquor and Beer Worth ₹3,04,544 in Gujarat

Kalol taluka police, while patrolling in the Saij area, intercepted a vehicle and recovered a consignment of foreign liquor and beer without a permit. Police arrested 2 persons from Mehsana and seized a total of Rs. 3,04,544 including the vehicle. Kalol taluka police station personnel were patrolling in the Saij beat area on 3 May. Meanwhile, on a private tip-off, a consignment of intoxicating drinks was being carried in a vehicle going from Mehsana to Ahmedabad. Based on the tip-off, police set up a watch near Saij Gurukul cut. Upon stopping the suspicious vehicle in the presence of panchas, two persons were found. On interrogation, the driver identified himself as Rahul Lalaji Thakor and the person sitting next to him as Vaibhav Kanuji Thakor. Both are residents of Vadosan, Mehsana. On checking the rear side of the vehicle, vodka and beer bottles were recovered. Investigations revealed 288 quarters of vodka and a total of 360 tins of beer were found. The total value of the consignment was Rs. ID3.
