Poonawalla Reiterates Decision to Resign from BJP Posts

In his letter, Poonawalla cited his earlier letter dated 30 July 2026. He stated that in that letter, he had offered to resign unconditionally from all posts and primary membership of the BJP, citing financial and personal circumstances. Shehzad Poonawalla said that it was a very emotional moment for him that the party refused to accept his resignation immediately and requested him to reconsider his decision. However, after long discussions and serious deliberations, he has taken the final decision to stick to his decision. In the letter addressed to BJP President Nitin Nabin, Adar Poonawalla said that the events that took place in the last few days and the circumstances related to the persons whom he had detailed to the party leadership forced him to stick to his earlier decision. In his letter, Poonawalla expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President Nitin Nabin, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Organisation Secretary BL Santhosh.
