After 31 rounds of counting, he got 63,203 votes and defeated Neeraj Sinha of BJP by 18,953 votes. Neeraj Sinha got 44,250 votes, while Rekha Gupta of RJD came third with 14,085 votes. After the victory of Prashant Kishor, Tej Pratap Yadav, the national president of Janshakti Janata Dal, has congratulated him. He said that Janshakti Janata Dal also supported you in this election. Tej Pratap Yadav posted on social media and wrote, "Heartiest congratulations to Prashant Kishor for the landslide victory. Tej Pratap Yadav further said in his message, "In this election, Janata Janshakti Dal also supported you fully.
