Pro-Russian Hacker Group Claims Responsibility for Cyberattack on Norwegian Government Digital Services

A pro-Russian hacker group claimed responsibility on Wednesday for a cyberattack that affected several Norwegian government digital services over the past three days. The cyberattack has been ongoing since Monday, with Norwegian Digitalization Agency (Digdir) spokesperson Are Kvistad saying, "This is the largest attack ever against Digdir solutions." The denial-of-service attacks meant that the hackers sent massive traffic to block the agency's services, including a service that allows citizens to use one login for multiple public services. However, Digdir's spokesperson said that the agency managed to keep the services up "practically all the time."
