Punjab Congress in-charge Bhupesh Baghel to visit state amid factionalism and infighting

Punjab Congress in-charge Bhupesh Baghel is arriving in Punjab on Thursday on a nine-day visit. However, even before the start of his crucial visit, the factionalism and infighting in the state Congress has once again come to the fore. The reason for the factionalism this time is a protest led by former chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi in Faridkot on Wednesday. The protest was organised over the Pharmacist Officers paper leak case. The protest was organised by former Faridkot MLA Kushaldeep Singh Kikki Dhillon, which was attended by Channi and several leaders of his faction. However, the Faridkot District Congress Committee has taken strong objection to this isolated protest, calling it a violation of party discipline. Faridkot District Congress President Navdeep Singh (Babbu Brar) has also written a complaint to party in-charge Bhupesh Baghel in this regard. The district president has written to Baghel that Dhillon has made several allegations: Bhupesh Baghel will reach Chandigarh on Thursday evening.
