The Congress is gearing up for the Punjab Assembly elections. Punjab Congress in-charge Bhupesh Baghel is on a nine-day visit to Punjab from Thursday. According to the information, till August 8, Baghel will gather feedback from the ground level of the Congress party's election preparations in Punjab from block level to district president and other office bearers. Baghel will hold meetings with Congress candidates contesting the 2022 Assembly elections, district Congress committee presidents, block Congress presidents, halqa presidents, mandal presidents and block committee members. The meetings will discuss in detail strengthening the organization up to the booth level, preparing election strategy, local issues and suggestions of workers. Punjab Congress General Secretary Captain Sandeep Sandhu has asked all the office bearers to compulsorily attend the meetings. Baghel has been in Chandigarh for six days this month and submitted a report on the organizational situation to the high command. Now the party leadership is focusing on intensifying the election preparations by uniting the organization ahead of the 2027 elections. Congress will start campaigning for the Punjab Assembly elections after August 15, Rahul Gandhi and other senior leaders of the Congress party are expected to attend the meeting.
