Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in Delhi. Putin's plane landed at Palam Air Force Station at around 3 am today. Putin is in India for the BRICS Summit. Ahead of that, a key meeting and interaction between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Putin is scheduled for today, September 11. In the meeting between PM Modi and President Putin, several major issues will be discussed to further strengthen the strategic, defence and economic ties between India and Russia. The two leaders will also discuss the fight against terrorism, space cooperation, combating drug trafficking and the International North-South Transport Corridor. It is believed that the focus of this conversation will be on three points. In a post on X, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that Minister of State (MoS) for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh received the Russian President at the Delhi airport. He also stressed on the "diverse and long-standing" bilateral relations between India and Russia. Jaiswal wrote, "President Kirti Vardhan and Russian Minister of State for the 18th BRICS Summit accorded a warm welcome at the airport.
