Panchkula Police Foil Murder Plot, Arrest Two Accused for Providing Weapons and Shelter

Times News NetworkPanchkula: Police arrested two men accused of providing weapons, a vehicle, mobile phones, and shelter to the killers of Inderpreet alias Parry, who was murdered in Sector 26, Chandigarh on Dec 1.Earlier, they were accused of sheltering the killers of national Kabaddi player, Sonu Nolta, in Pinjore.The arrested accused, Shivam Sharma (23) and Gopal Kumar (21), of Faridkot, were arrested from Kharar on specific intelligence.DCP Crime and Traffic Manpreet Singh Sudan said preliminary investigations revealed that Shivam Sharma is already facing a drug trafficking case in Faridkot, while Gopal Kumar has two criminal cases related to assault and brawl registered against him.IPL Auction 2026IPL Auction 2026: Full list of sold and unsold players for all teamsIPL 2026 team and squad List: Updated players for all 10 Teams; who got whomDuring interrogation, the accused disclosed that they, along with their associates, Ankush and Piyush Piplani, were planning another murder in Faridkot, targeting a youth identified as Ajay. Police also found their involvement in heroin trafficking.The DCP added that the accused were in contact with notorious criminal Harry Boxer and had previously provided shelter to Ankush and Piyush, who were wanted in the Sonu Nolta murder case in Pinjore.A separate case under relevant sections of BNS and the Arms Act has been registered in Pinjore police station.The accused were produced in a local court on Dec 15 and have been remanded in five-day police custody. Police are questioning them to trace the weapon supply network, movement of vehicles used, and hideouts of the absconding murder accused.The investigation is being supervised by ACP Crime Arvind Kamboj, with the detective staff team led by inspector Mandeep Singh.DCP Sudan said Panchkula Police is following a zero-tolerance policy against organised crime, murder, and drug trafficking. He added that under Operation Trackdown, police recently foiled four potential murder plots, reiterating that strict action would continue against those threatening law and order.Police officials said arrests of other suspects linked to the murder cases are expected soon.
