Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has assured all possible help to the youth protesting against alleged irregularities in recruitment exams in Jharkhand. A student leader among the protesters claimed on Thursday (August 7). The Congress is a constituent of the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) -led alliance in the state. Student leader Ravindra Paswan claimed that during a telephonic conversation on Thursday evening, Rahul Gandhi asked the protesters to send details of their demands and assured them that he would talk to the state government about their problems. The protesters are demanding cancellation of the 14th Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) civil services examination and an independent probe into alleged irregularities in the recruitment exam. They demand that the probe be either carried out by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or by a panel of retired high court judges from outside the state. He also insisted on sweeping reforms in the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC). The student leadership of the protesters also told reporters, "I have had a conversation with the hunger strike leaders here today."
