Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, has begun a sit-in at the Parliament Street police station along with Sahil Lochab, a 19-year-old student who was injured by a pellet gun during a protest on July 20. Rahul Gandhi and Congress representatives have demanded that a complaint be filed against the security personnel responsible and a preliminary FIR be made. Rahul Gandhi has made it clear that he will not leave the police station until the police officially register this specific complaint. BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad has taken strong exception to Gandhi's move, saying that Rahul Gandhi is doing politics of anarchy by sitting in the police station without any prior permission or information. Ravi Shankar Prasad has clarified that the police have already informed that the incident being referred to has already been registered and is under investigation. Also, the Supreme Court has set up a high-level committee to investigate the matter. The BJP MP questioned whether Rahul Gandhi does not want to respect any law of the land and accused the Congress leadership of diverting attention from the national anthem.
