Rahul Gandhi to Rally Support for Congress in Punjab Ahead of 2027 Elections

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is going to hold a rally in Punjab on 4 November. Congress is launching the campaign for the elections in Punjab 2027. Rahul Gandhi has chosen Sangrur for the Ye Insaaf rally. Political controversies related to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government along with Punjab's electoral equation are a big reason behind choosing Sangrur. Congress is starting its campaign for the 2027 assembly elections from Malwa. This is the largest and politically most important area of the state. Out of 117 assembly seats in Punjab, 69 seats come from Harpal Singh Cheema's village. For Rahul Gandhi, the purpose of the Sangrur rally is to bring Malwa to the center of Congress's mission 2027 and to unite party workers in all the electoral circles of this region. Apart from electoral importance, Sangrur has recently become the center of protests against the drug problem and police excesses. Many controversies have brought this issue to the center of political discussion. The village of Banjara, where Harpal Singh Cheema lived before his death, has become a big issue.
