Rahul Gandhi's Effort to Revamp Congress Party Organization Prioritizes Youth and Grassroots Activism

Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has started an exercise to revamp the Congress organisation and bring youth on the front foot. Work has started on a plan to transform the Congress from a clutches of old and'drawing room politics'leaders to a young, aggressive and fighting on the ground organisation. The main criterion for appointment to national organisation posts in the Congress is now considered to be work record and grassroots activism rather than political seniority. To make the organisation more inclusive and dynamic, the party leadership has started the process of interviews to induct new national secretaries. Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and general secretary organisation के.सी are interviewing leaders for the post of Congress national secretary along with Venugopal. Selected leaders from different states of the country have been called to Delhi to prepare a new, professional and ideologically strong young leadership in the organisation. Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi are interviewing national leaders for the post of Congress secretary on Monday. Rahul Gandhi will be interviewed again only after two rounds of interviews.
