Rajasthan Municipal Elections: Second Phase Voting Underway as Veteran Leaders Exercise Franchise

The voting for the municipal elections in Rajasthan is underway. Today, the second and final phase of polling in the state will continue till 6 pm. In this, veteran leaders like Lok Sabha Speaker, Om Birla, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot were seen exercising their franchise. These leaders also requested the people of their respective areas to participate in the voting as much as possible. The first phase of voting for the municipal elections has been completed on 9 September. In the first phase, voting was held for 5,393 wards of 162 municipal bodies. Today, voting is going on in 4,774 wards of 147 bodies. The counting of votes will be done on 14 September. The first thing will be done by senior Congress leader and former Chief Minister of the state Ashok Gehlot, who reached the Jain School polling station in Mahamandir, Jodhpur, and voted with his family. During this time, his wife Sunita Gehlot, son Vaibhav Gehlot and daughter-in-law Himanshi Gehlot will also reach the polling stations along with him. Ashok Gehlot said that the first phase of voting for the municipal corporations and municipal corporations has been going on since 7 am. Ashok Gehlot has been constantly talking to the media.
