Rajasthan Police Warns of Cybersecurity Risks After RPSC Recruitment Portal Breach

After the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) recruitment portal was breached, the Rajasthan Police is now in full alert mode. The Cyber Crime Branch has issued a special advisory to all universities, educational institutions, government and private organizations, saying that if the security of the web portal is not strengthened, sensitive data can ever come under the target of cybercriminals. Additional Director General of Police (ADG) Cybercrime of Rajasthan Police VK Singh said that a case of tampering with the exam results, merit list and records of candidates by unauthorized entry in the RPSC recruitment portal was reported. However, the Ajmer Police arrested the accused, but this incident has raised serious questions on the digital security of all institutions. According to the police, many portals have technical flaws, by taking advantage of which cybercriminals can see the data of other users, make changes in the database, bypass the password system and create passwords millions of times. The criminals are the first to find the URLs in the advisory website and the auto-scripts after this.
