Rajasthan Sarpanch Election Result Sparks Controversy and Violence

There was a huge controversy after the result of the sarpanch election was announced in Gugalkota Gram Panchayat of Kotputli-Behror district of Rajasthan. Chandan Meena has won the election by defeating his nearest rival by 45 votes. However, due to continuous objections from the opposition during the counting, three recounts had to be done. Even after three recounts, the margin of victory remained 45 votes. There was no change in the number of votes and Chandan Meena was declared the winner as per the election process. But as soon as the election results came out, the dispute increased. There were reports of stone-pelting by some people from the opposition who were dissatisfied with the defeat. Suddenly this incident created panic and tension in the area. During the counting of the election for the post of sarpanch in Gugalkota Gram Panchayat, the opposition had raised objections questioning the results. However, under the election process, Chandan Meena did not change the result. Chandan Meena was also declared the winner after the recounting of the votes.
