Rajkot Municipal Corporation Approves Salary Increase for Class 1-4 Employees

RAJKOT, Dt. 8: The much-debated proposal to increase the salaries of class 1 to 4 employees and officers in Rajkot Municipal Corporation has finally received the approval of the Commissioner. Earlier, the proposal was rejected on the grounds that it would create an additional financial burden of crores of rupees to be placed in the Standing Committee. But later, due to lack of coordination and lack of proper study of the representations of the employee unions, the same proposal was submitted and approved as an urgent proposal in the General Board. Now, after a long time, the Commissioner has approved this decision. It has been decided to revise the salaries of a total of 9 categories in different branches of the corporation as per the Standing Committee Resolution No. 547 Dt. 20/02/2026. The revised pay scale will be implemented after the approval of the government for the posts of ranks 1 and 2, while the direct pay revision will be implemented in the ranks 3 to 9. In addition to this, the provision of promotion or permanent benefits to the employees concerned will also be implemented till the date.
