Rajkot Officials Accused of Violating Model Code of Conduct Ahead of Local Body Elections

RAJKOT, DECEMBER 8: Senior Congress leader of the city Congress committee Gajendra Singh Jhala (આર.ટી.આઇ Activist) said that the model code of conduct comes into force as soon as the local body elections are announced on April 1, 2006. But some officials are violating the order of the Election Commission. The Union Bank of India branch near 80 Feet Road, Bhaktinagar Circle in Rajkot city is getting PM's pictures in the script. When the code of conduct came into force, the branch manager was verbally abused and complained to the police control room to remove the PM's poster inside the ATM. Gajendra Singh Jhala informed the police inspector at that time and also to the Bhaktinagar police station.
