Patna: With nominations for the Rajya Sabha elections in full swing, Bihar politics has a new buzz. From the NDA, Nitish Kumar and Ram Nath Thakur of the JD (U), national president Nitin Naveen and Shivesh Kumar Ram of the BJP, and RLMO supremo Upendra Kushwaha have filed their papers. But the most prominent name in the entire list is that of Nitin Naveen. Nitin Naveen is currently an MLA from Bankipur seat in Patna. Now that he has moved to the Rajya Sabha, a by-election is set to be held on this high-profile seat. The biggest question is, who will succeed Nitin Naveen in Bankipur? Will the BJP bet on Bhojpuri superstar Pawan Singh here? Nitin Naveen is the son of veteran BJP leader Naveen Kishore Sinha. Nitin Naveen has been an MLA from this seat for 5 consecutive terms. His journey started from the 2006 by-election, where he defeated the RJD candidate by a huge margin of 51,936 votes, to the 2025 assembly elections. According to sources, Nitin Naveen has now started the search for a'saffron'candidate in this Rajya Sabha bastion, which is his first.
