'Ramayan' Film Released Worldwide: Actress Lara Dutta Reflects on Historic Journey as Kaikeyi

The biggest Indian film has arrived in theatres today. Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayan released worldwide today on 5th November, just before Diwali. Actress Lara Dutta, who plays Kaikeyi in the film, penned an emotional note on being a part of this journey from the beginning. She spoke about how she got the opportunity to play "one of the most misunderstood women" in history. In Ramayan, Rani Kaikeyi asks King Dashrath for two boons that have a direct effect on Ram. First, to make her son Bharat the King and Crown Prince of Ayodhya; and second, to send Ram to exile in the Dandak forest for 14 years. On her Instagram account, Lara shared a few pictures of her look as Kaikeyi in the film and wrote a long caption. She called it a great privilege to be a part of a historic journey like'Ramayan '. She began many years ago as "a deep longing."
