Rape of Minor Girl Sparks Protests in Dehradun

There was a stir in Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand, when a minor accused a young man of rape. It is alleged that a shameful incident of rape of a minor living in a rented house in Nagar Kotwali took place. A frightened girl told her relatives about the incident, after which the family approached the police. A 14-year-old minor girl was raped in the Nagar Kotwali police station area of Dehradun. A minor girl of a family living on rent in Malian locality near Saharanpur Chowk here was forcibly taken to the toilet by her landlord's nephew. When the matter came to light, there was an uproar and Hindu organizations also reached the spot. The accused was beaten badly. The police reached the spot, took the accused into custody and started investigating the matter. After this incident, many activists of Hindu organizations created a ruckus outside the accused's house and closed the market.
